Meet the Team - Introducing Susie Fortenberry
My name is Susie Fortenberry and I have been a part of All-Clean USA for 23 years. I was born in Conway, Arkansas and was raised in a community called Rabbit Ridge. I attended school at Bee Branch South Side. My role at All-Clean has been a combination of several things. Office Manager is my main role but I assist wherever I am needed on an emergency basis. I might take a load of equipment to a hurricane site or haul supplies and food to a tornado job. If needed, I am able to help pack and load contents out of a house. I have seen lots of devastation and I am extremely proud of being a part of a TEAM of people who are making a difference in the lives of those affected. This job can be a very grueling and dirty one, but the gratitude given back to you trumps it all! The TEAM of people I have been given to share this journey with are all amazing individuals that I call my family! When one hurts we all hurt. We are all in this together. Most of all, being able to work alongside your best friend for 23 years is a win-win for me!
How long have you worked at All-Clean?
I started with All-Clean in September of 2001… almost 23 years!
What is your role at All-Clean?
Office Manager at the Conway Office - support staff to many!
What is your All-Clean origin story?
When Brett Overman and Burle Fortenberry opened up the Conway branch of All-Clean, my sister Mary was the first employee at that location. She spent 14 years here until her passing. I was fortunate to be Brett’s second employee. Learning a business that I knew nothing about from the ground up has been a huge accomplishment in my life. I’ve learned to navigate large losses and get to see the finished product after the work is done.
What are your hobbies?
Spending time with my kids and grandkids is by far my favorite. Reading, cooking when I can (especially baking a sweet treat), volunteering at our local school, and TRAVELING. I’m always ready for a trip!
What is your favorite part of working at All-Clean?
The opportunities to help someone during a loss. Whether it be a water, fire, or storm loss, I have met some of the most amazing individuals who I have connected with on a personal level. Helping them navigate through the process, which can be very challenging for some, and easing their burden and fears gives me comfort as I hope I have given them too.
What is your favorite sports team?
Arkansas Razorbacks.
Who are your favorite musical artists?
George Strait, Adele, the late Jimmy Buffett, and Chris Stapleton.
What is your favorite quote?
“Spread love and kindness everywhere you go.”
What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
My husband would answer for me - in the recliner watching a good Lifetime movie…LOL! Anything with my family and friends!
What causes are you passionate about?
My most passionate cause is helping children who may not have everything they need in this world we live in, whether it may be food, clothes, personal items, or Christmas presents. It's my HEART and we are blessed to be able to help as a company.
What’s the career highlight that you’re most proud of? (So far.)
There are many! I don't think I could name just one. Every day is different in this business. Being there in a time of need brings me great pride in what we can offer!
What piece of advice or motto do you live by?
Always do the best you can do. Give THANKS for all blessings. Remain humble and be KIND!
What’s on your bucket list?
Traveling more with my best friend!
Which famous person in history would you want to spend the day with? (Dead or Alive)
Jesus Christ, from whom all blessings are given.
Who or what inspires you in your career?
Brett Overman, All-Clean USA’s CEO, for making a dream and a vision a reality.
Burle Fortenberry, my husband, for leading by example with honesty and integrity.
Many TEAM members, who give their heart and soul daily.
What is a funny story that you have from your time at All-Clean?
When Burle Fortenberry came from his first interview with Brett Overman, I told him, “This job will never work… it’s too good to be true and we have small children at home to raise and feed. You better look somewhere else.” I have eaten those words many times over!..
